Let’s do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  The CDC is now encouraging us all to wear a cloth face mask during this time.

We are offering an option to buy one with no donation, or buy one and donate one. With every mask you purchase under "Buy One Give One", we will donate a mask to our local hospital systems and other medical workers on the front lines of the pandemic.

These masks are made according to instructions provided by Atrium Health, and according to CDC recommendations for non-medical use.

Details:

  • 100% cotton
  • Assorted patterns – quilting cotton and batik fabrics.
  • Includes a pocket for a filter (filter not included, but you can find easy instructions here).
  • One size fits all.
  • Pleated design that expands to cover the face from the bridge of the nose to underneath the chin.
  • Not intended for children under 2 years of age or anyone incapacitated.
  • Machine wash and lay flat to dry.

*Please wash before and after use and continue to practice handwashing and social distancing while wearing.

Due to the health standards, we will not be accepting returns.

Where it's made

Where it's made

Project Compassion face masks are hand-sewn by immigrant and refugee women in Charlotte, NC, who are participants in the Project 658 Make Welcome Sewing program and Fashion & Compassion. In addition, we partner with Magdalene House in Charleston, SC, serving vulnerable women and teaching them new life skills, along with Treetops Collective in Grand Rapids, MI, connecting New American women with opportunities. The artisans at both of these organizations are also sewing your masks with care. With each mask purchased, you are providing employment to these women, helping them provide for their families during these uncertain times, while also providing a mask for medical workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

How it's made

Each mask is made of 100% cotton and sewn according to the pattern provided by both Atrium and Novant health care systems in Charlotte, NC. Clients of Fashion & Compassion, the Make Welcome Sewing program, Magdalene House and Treetops Collective sew each mask with love and care while receiving income to provide for their families during this crisis.
